Large rectangular shaped mantle clock known as Religieuse signed Thuret in Paris in Boulle technique marquetry composed of shell, gilt brass and gilt bronze ornaments. Removable upper part, ornated by eight fire pots, a pierced balustrade with inlaid foliage and scrollwork decoration. Body flanked on both sides with inlaid lambrequins columns and surmounted by Corinthian capitals. Cetre pierced with glass and encircled by a contour on the sides and on the facade. Opening with a keyhole door on the facade, at the back a velvet door supports the circular dial which is engraved with the hours in black, finely crafted clock hands. Under the dial an architecture of scrolling with legs ending in claws and containing the clockmaker's signature. Lower-part with a falling drapery. Resting upon four toupie feet. This religieuse offers a rich visual architectural inspiration.

Rapporto delle condizioni : The marquetry has been stamped with a varnish seal, carried out by a cabinet-maker with a method which ensures protection, contrast and brilliance. Ensemble in good condition. Movement revised by clockmaker, in perfect working order, ring tone for hours and half hours.
