Artist from Montmartre and historic Paris. In 1912, he met Maurice Utrillo at the Lapin Argile and with him they painted Montmartre directly. Between 1927 and 1928, he worked a great deal in the Netherlands and Belgium. His preferred subjects were Montmartre, northern suburbs, Zone and old city gates, St. Martin Canal and Les Halls in Paris. (Source Dictionary of Montmartre Artists, A Roussard)
