Circular porcelain plate with painted decoration in the Famille Verte enamels. Centre decorated by a deer harnessed to a floral cart steering towards a blossoming tree with two lingzhi growing alongside. Blossoming peony towards the left. A barrier encloses the foreground. Outer rim, with four painted cartouches of Buddhist attributes, is ornated by a double blue under glaze frieze of Greek fretworks, a gilt enamelled iron spear tips frieze and a foliaged and floral running scroll.

Cracks and chips along rim. According to an old Taoist belief, deer have the ability to find lingzhi, immortality mushrooms.
